oil consumption test result,

Featured Replies

WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!!! engine failed the comsumption test today by a midgeys D**K cave 2012 , first mode of operation is oil breather pipe change, garage says this is protocol but looking at it they think it will need a new engine. how do i drive this car after breather pipe to make sure i don't inadvertently pass the test next time as its already burnt a shed load of oil ?

Drive it like you stole it!

Drive it like you stole it!

thanks for the advice flapper jack but this is the complete opposite to what the master tech said he said that driving it like you stole it makes the cylinders always have full compression which wont let the oil burn he said cruising in it causes it to burn more oil , so I'm really confused because i was gonna do like you said and just let the turbo kick in all the time and stuff to make sure the test was fair,

Yeah I was joking anyway. Drive how you want. The breather mod irrc is just a one way valve in the pipe. How much are you using prior to this?

Actually driving it like you stole it is actually likely to use less oil.

So it is a Breather Pipe / Valve Mod, maybe like OzFabia has in Australia rather than as others have had in the UK.

& a ECU Update.

Measured 3.6 litres in, and for a while the consumption of oil might be lower,

the Engine is not repaired.

Short Journeys usually use oil, long trips might not.

But any way, sick CAVE, and a Breather Mod is a Sticking Plaster.

so what to do when the mod is fitted if the consumption goes down?

Sport mode, short local mileages from cold, at reasonable stick. That did it for me when I was going through this phase of the process with my partners car. It FAILED,2nd test, result New Motor.

Chill.

The Warranty work has started.

No need to worry if Oil use is down in 621 miles or 1,242 miles,

The Engine was using oil badly, the engine is worn and they will replace it come time, because there is no magic fix.

So enjoy your car,

and when the Master Tech tells Skoda UK that they should approve a Replacement Engine,

then be sure they have a Nice Courtesy car available.
