  1. Its passenger side bottom of front end , in front of front wheel you need to take the bumper off to get to it
  2. Hey guys if you see second comment from OP she states pistons had to be replaced , if garage are cowboys and used new pistons rings and did not hone the bore this is a classic example of the symptoms the op is stating (sluggish driving due to lack of compression , oil getting past control/ compression rings) also if any scoring to bore , another good point is if the cylinder head was skimmed to accommodate new head gasket , a bent valve would also potentially damage a valve stem seal , & a valve stem seal in my personal opinion would only smoke on startup like my mothers Kia ceed diesel currently does.
  3. I agree I would be running battery externally under the car in the exhaust/ transmission tunnel
  4. Catherine I myself am in Manchester and my mother had the 1.2L HTP engine and the same thing happened to her , if you would like some help feel free to DM me , garage wise I would be taking it to Ashton autoworx in lees oldham
  5. A cause of smoking after a belt snap / slip can be fitting new oil control rings / pistons rings into an old bore without honing the bore also if the pistons did slap the valves then it can scrape the bores causing ways for oil to get into the combustion chamber , it would of been cheaper to drop a second hand 1.2L engine into your car than to pay for a rebuild sounds like they have ripped you off and I would be making a warranty complaint
  6. A good thing to do would be to get a oil catch can fitted then you can see how much your crankcase is getting pressurised etc and how much your pcv valve is sending oil into the intake manifold
  7. We all know it’s the Kolbenschimt uprated pistons and rings that sorted out the oil consumption issues that the cthe engine comes with as standard
  8. No argument from me here , just asking how an engine can burn oil if oil is not getting passed the compression rings & oil control ring ?
  9. In fairness though an oil jet should have no bearing on oil consumption if the oil control rings and compression rings are doing there job correctly and the bores have the correct cross hatching on them
  10. Hi in regards to the spark plugs I did like how the denso spark plugs behaved in my engine , but longevity wise the NGK BKR7EI last longer the spark plug you listed I would not run. As for using oil that’s a lot of oil consumption are you sure it’s a CTHE engine ? Any smoke while driving ? Maybe it’s a turbo oil seal or something as apposed to a oil drinker
  11. Where are you based happy to take a look , what fault codes come up when scanned
  12. Injectors usually fail on the 1.6 tdi , can only really be fuel pump or injector related for me , what fault codes come up ?
