vrs bulb's

Featured Replies

just wondering what bulb's the main headlights are , are they H7 as the light they give off is absolute dog **** thinking of doing a HID conversion if anyone can recommend a fairly cheap priced set

Did you consider the strategy of spending five minutes actually checking the forum before posting this?

vxh26,

Forum Troll with knowledge of the cars from doing searches,

have you any idea what the Bulbs are.?

Have you ever tried to help a member with any matter?

Yes they are H7's, an hid kit is the way to go but I wouldn't recommend a cheap kit as many on here have had problems and it's put them right off, hid-direct are well proven with good aftersales back up and there top 55w canbus kit is £55 so hardly a bank breaker. I can personally recommend the 4300k colour temperature for light output. Others like the 5000k but above that the blue tinge starts to creep in.

There is another thread called fitting hid's, it's worth reading!!!

thanks wrightcnc2009 was just looking at hid direct and can only find the 35 W kit not the 55W kit heres the link http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/categories/manufacturer/SKODA/FABIA-ESTATE-amp-VRS/2007-Present-mk2/  was thinking i do like the slight blue tinge but i don't want to chav it up does everyone think the slight blue tinge makes them look tacky ?

I've got 6000k in mine which do have a slight blue tinge but not chavvy imo. Having said that I'm going to go for 5000k next just to see the difference. As said above the 5000k and 4300k put out more 'usable' light according to test figures. I couldn't give a personal answer to that........yet.

I've got the 35w canbus pro set from car mod shop. They have great pre and after sales, guy called James. I phoned while I was fitting mine as had a few questions and he talked me through it all. This is my set http://www.car-mod-shop.co.uk/35wcanh7-6k-h7-xenon-hid-conversion-kit-canbus-6000k.html

According to some reviews the 55w kits have a higher failure rate but I can't confirm that. They are documented to give out more lumens.......4200 compared to 3600 for a 6000k kit. A standard halogen bulb will put out somewhere between 1000-1200 lumens. I'm not sure how much extra heat the 55w bulb/ballast combo produce inside the lens and original wiring...
