So here I am best part of 4k miles into 2007 PD VRS ownership and I'm now wondering what signs I should see or hear when a regen happens as I've noticed nothing unusual.

Over half the 4k miles has been on motorways at 2500rpm the rest running round M25 normally in traffic.

The RPM (idle) will increase to 1,000 RPM.

Fuel consumption will increase and you might notice that the car is a little harder to drive smoothly.

If you turn the engine off mid way through a regen you might notice that the engine fans running (to cool down the hot exhaust).

If you spend most of your time on the motorway you may never notice.

Thanks for that, explains why it was a bit "lumpy" early on in my ownership.

Do you know if it has had the injector recall? All PD170 engined vRS's were recalled but some slipped through the net. There should be a sticker in the boot next to the spare wheel.

Do your research on here though as it has been known to cause some fairly significant after effects.

Whilst on the phone to Skoda GB, trying to find service details, I have no service history at all! They confirmed it has had the injectors done a while ago, also downpipe looks new so suspect DPF may have been replaced.
