My car (only had it 48 hours and already fiddling) is not maxidot.  How do I change computer settings etc? I've sussed out the MPG/Trip settings using the washer stalk buttons, but the seller mentioned turning day running lights off etc.  Is it something that can only be achieved with wheel mounted control fitter cars?

Thought that might be the case. Not that fussed. Just seeing what options I have that can be 'added' using VCDS.  Are they expensive units? I know the Vauxhall Tech2 costs thousands.

Have a look at the UK distributors in here -- for a HEX+CAN that will do most VAG vehicles you are looking about £270, and it is worth every single penny of that.

Great thanks.  I'll look into it.  Can non maxidot cars display error codes on the dash? My vauxhalls allowed me to view errors by turning to pre ignition with the brake and accelerator depressed.
