Changed CCM and DRLs not working!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Ok so I had a problem with my drivers side indicator being on permanently. Briskoda tells me that the CCM is goosed! I tracked it down to under the drivers side dash and unplugged it - indicator goes out.

So I had a search on eBay and bought another with the same part number 1K0 937 087 D. Swapped it out and the LED DRLs don't work, despite the coding looking ok in VCDS. Everything else working as it should be.

Help if you can pretty please?!

Are you "sure" the coding is exactly the same, down to the exact digits, as the old CCM?

Standard routine is to copy the old coding and ensure exact match on the new CCM.

Yes I've copied the coding over. I'm wondering if these units can be different despite having the same part no. Old one I

Has a date of August 09 while the 'new' one is May 09. Perhaps clutching at straws though

There can be updates on newer CCMs although I am surprised.  Is there a fault code about the DRLs on the CCM - maybe a coding fault?

sounds like a byte 18 coding issue

Agreed, very much sounds like a byte 18 thing. Basically it has a mask on it so although it shows 00, it's coded to something else.

If you do want to try fixing it yourself then there are a list of probable codes here: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/279346-central-electrics-controller-1k0937087/?p=3312230 From those, 32 looks the best bet.

I have no idea if this will make things better or worse so it's completely at your own risk.

Otherwise, Rosstech might be able to offer more help or a tame local dealers should be able to sort it out with VAS if they know what they are doing.

Thanks for the replies guys. Very much appreciated!

At the moment I've got 2 options. I either try byte 18 or I take it to the dealer and say "I replaced this but it doesn't work and i don't know how to sort it"

Theres no mention of DRLs in the fault codes. Tail light out error even though it's fine. Don't know if that gives any clue?

The code in byte 18 tells the car what lights are installed and which pin to expect them on.

If the module is from another car with a different byte 18 it's probably quite confused so the tail out warning and no power to the DRL's aren't a surprise.

Looks like the unit is from a VW so bit 32 isn't an option. Can i enter it into the long code or is that a no go?

hi i changed my ccm also the coding was copied to new module and my drls was not working luckilly i know a man with skoda laptop and he was stumbled why they was not on took him about a hour to figure it out and bang they came on take it to skoda mate

It's going to have to go to Skoda. I changed to long code entering 32 into the right place and there's been no change. No errors any more though.

Now sorted. Local dealer charged me a half hours labour than amounted to £40. I'm pretty happy with that!
