Skoda Octavia VRS TDI - Help a newbie out please :)

Featured Replies

Hey all

Pretty sure this is in the right section. Basically, as the title suggests I want to do some subtle modding to my car. Already asked the question regards a remap and have decided that Shark is the route to go down. Going to get a stage 1 remap followed by an exhaust upgrade and possibly an air filter. Up to now as finances and time dictate, this is as far as I intend to go.

So, that's where you come in! From what I've been researching, people seem to be raving about Miltek where performance exhausts are concerned but would like more clarification. I don't want anything OTT but a change in exhaust note would be nice, say, a tad more raspy. Don't think I want to move to a singular pipe or oval either. Has anyone here upgraded their exhaust and I notice companies (unless I'm being thick) only seem to list the FSI variant and not TDI? I assume they are all compatible?

Also, for Diesel owners, do any particular exhausts make it sound more like their petrol siblings?

So yeah, spec me a decent exhaust system and not to mention if it's at all worth getting an aftermarket air filter?

Of course, you can try to encourage me to get more done to the car if you think you can. Come on, av a go :)

Shark sell Miltek.  Maybe they will have one there you can listen to?

Aftermarket air filter? Not so much.  Very minimal gain, very unlikely they will filter as well.

They may give you more noise though, that may be enough.

My Shark still gives a grin after 4 years.

I went the DTUK route from Diesel performance... Had remaps on my mk1 and mk2 vrs's... The dtuk box (CRD T 2) is so much better than a remap, with switchable maps and it drives so well, transformed the car and I fitted it in 5 minutes, in the dark!!!!! Just my thoughts....
