MDI Navigation and memory

Featured Replies

Hi, as some of you may know I have retrofitted MDI into my Fabia and got it coded in yesterday at VASStech. It works well however I have a couple of questions about it.

1. Is there any way of being able to search for a specific song on my iPod and start playing from there. I have all my songs on the iPod and like to have it playing on shuffle, this is fine most of the time however sometimes you just think of a song and would like to play that one, how do you get to that song without skipping through every track until you get there?

2. I found that normally the screen displays track 01 track 02 ect when playing but if you press info it will show the names of the songs, that's great but when you get out then go to drive again it reverts back to the first screen, also I like to play on shuffle, or mix as it is on MDI, but as with info this reverts back to normal when I turn it off. Is there any way to keep these things how I left them?

It remembers where it left off in the song perfectly fine and I love everything else about it, but is there a solution to these niggles?

Or on second thoughts is there a better way to do this with a USB stick?

When you say "press info" I presume its not a Columbus then? Is it an Amundsen or aftermarket?

Sorry, it's a Swing. Forgot to mention that bit.

Sorry but I didn't even know that was a navigation unit! So not going to be much help sadly.

I meant navigating through the songs and folders in the MDI. Maybe I could have worded my title better, sorry, and thanks for coming.

Doh!! Its obvious now you say it...
