Convincing the missus!

Featured Replies

So as some of you may have seen earlier today / yesterday we are getting a fabia mk2 vrs this friday coming, missus is fretting however! she is worried its all power and she might be frightened of driving it  . been trying to convince her it can be driven normally and not always like a rocket, anybody who has driven one for a while back me up here :) ? is it as practical as it is powerful?

I own a corsa... OH has a 170hp superb. I havn't died driving it yet!

My mum drove the Jag for the first time, going from her 65bhp Corsa to a 240BHP Jaguar, no worries, remind her that throttle is variable and not just on / off

I drove a CTHE Polo for a week, was just taking it easy mostly, no need to rush.

It is totally normal, she just needs to put it in 'D' and drive,

not boot it, use 'S' or anything else.

This week as well as eating Yogurt i have trundled about in Ice & Snow in a Twincharger.

The DSG is excellent, and you just need a light throttle.

On trips over 10 miles 40 plus MPG is very easily achieved, and at NSL's high 40's MPG into the 50's

Oh please. Itll only go as fast as you want it to.

Otherwise us bikers would be completely unable to get round any corner, ever. As we'd of gathered soo much speed by then lol

Shoulda just told her its another 1.4 ;).

Seriously though. She'll be fine wont she. She'll most likely love it as soon as shes got in it.

Only goes as fast as you press the pedal (:

Thanks for the replies guys, i think the best bet will be when we pick it up to take her to a carpark and let her try a few things there with it before she hits the road :)

ofc since its auto i will myself have to get used to tying my left foot behind my head...

that and remember that ill be driving a petrol again and not a diesel... havent made that mistake yet when filling up but there is time still!

I drove the superb first with my OH there and then drove it a few times alone, still makes me wince sometimes as I'm really not used to the size but the power was easy to adjust to, in no time alone I was flooring it about! can't park the bloomin thing though!

It's only as fast as her right foot. Car doesn't drive itself.
