Sourcing Fakra connectors

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where I could source the missing Fakra connectors that would be required to fix the below unit?

Many thanks

There seem to be a fare few on ebay in various styles, for instance: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181208956930

Just depends if that's how the current ones are connect to the mainboard.

Thanks. In particular, I am looking for the below female connectors to snap in:

I think I have found the white shell from chinarf on ebay, just the blue one now!

Its all one connector mounted to the main board inside.

I don't think you can get / fit just the plastic covers.

I had two of the connector blocks imported from Europe. I need one and sold the other to 'jerbear' on here.

Not sure what he's done with it, but I don't think he'll want it now. He should also have an old connectir block that could be 'stripped' to get the plastic bits.

I'll also have spare plastic bits soon, but can't say when. Sorry.

You might be able to remove the plastic connector of an existing plug such as this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/150823873118 not sure I'd trust it to keep the antenna in place though.

Otherwise you might want to contact Rustynuts and see if he can provide you with a full connector, he seems to have most things headunit related.

Co-star.co.UK have helped with one orctwo applications in the past for me. Maybe worth giving them a ring?

Have got a complete spare plug if your interested as per KBPhoto

Thanks gents for advice. Karl, you'll be glad I finally sold THAT Columbus!!

I am now looking for an Amundsen, preferably with Bluetooth but not necessarily with DAB. One with Western European maps would be most desirable!

Jerbear, I haven't bought this particular unit yet, but if I was to, how much would you want for the spare plug?

Hi Jon, what was "that Columbus".?

Sorry jerbear, bit of a private joke between KB and myself! I bought a perfectly good columbus from a member on here last year. I retrofitted this to my old car and KB spent half of August and most of September trying to upgrade the firmware and maps. Turned out a faulty ignition switch was stopping and starting the installation on every occasion. I ended up selling the car and columbus. I now have a poverty spec octavia and am looking for amundsen rather than a columbus!

I got the joke!

Agh, ok.

KB has helped myself many a time. Top man.

;)

It was a problem installing firmware from known good dics that bugged me for ages and turned out to be down to a faulty ignition switch not the Columbus or anything else we tried.
