Direct replacement for Symphony that will play MP3?

Featured Replies

Is there any direct replacement for the Symphony that came as stock on my Original Octavia L&K that would allow me to use CDs with MP3 files on in the autochanger? Not sure if it's even possible, depends I guess on whether the changer reads the audio data and pumps it to the header, or just sends the raw data.

If it would have a DAB tuner it would be a bonus ;)

No steering column controls to worry about on the L&K

You can get a sony 6 disc changer that will play MP3's on the standard HU.

Got any details as this is on my wish-list?

With me being a total noob at doing anything ICE related, could somebody tell me what fitting one of the above MP3 changers in place of the current Skoda changer (under passenger seat) in my Fab vRS would entail?

I investigated this option but rejected the idea when I discovered that it's not possible to select a specific album. If you want the 3rd track on the 7th album of your MP3 CD, you would have to press forward 63 times (assuming 10 tracks per album).

If anyone can tell me I'm wrong, I'd be very interested....

How about Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB series head units? DAB radio plus MP3 play direct from SD or MMC memory card, so no CD  (although obviously will play CD/CDR/CDMP3 too)
