an odd problem has suddenly appeared in the last couple of days.when selecting reverse gear the picture comes up on the radio but the sound from the radio is still there.before the radio muted,has anyone any ideas  thanks in advance  brian.

There are various options for reducing the radio volume or switching it off entirely when reverse is selected. Check out the manual and you may be able to adjust the setting to suit you.

Mine is set to reduce the radio volume as I do not want to miss say a traffic report whilst reversing.

They quite often have a 'senior' moment and forget that they are supposed to dip the sound.

 

Depending upon what head unit you have (you haven't said) you may be able to reset it (as above) or reboot it and it may be restored.
