2 quick questions about android and security

Featured Replies

First, which is safest when sorting out payement methods on ebay on my phone? Using paypal or using a visa card? Second, why is it when i set briskoda as a shortcut the shortcut simbol on my phone shows as the facebook f?

Honest truth?

I don't trust Android or mobile payment systems at all.

So if you must use them I'd use the method which covers your liabilities the best.

I think Visa Credit card would probably be best but bear in mind you will be responsible for proving that any losses are not your fault should anything happen.

I'd ensure that you don't side load apps, don't load anything but very popular apps. Make sure you have a pass-code or something of that sort to get into the phone, encrypt it if you can and log out of apps when you're not using them.

Youve worried me now. Lol. I was gona use a visa card because of the liabilities thought that might have been safe enough.i dont have a laptop you see only a phone and an android tablet. Its a pain havin go round my mums everytime i want order from ebay

Just order using PayPal.

So long as you don't load loads of rubbish apps you'll be fine.

When you order from eBay just use PayPal. Your card details are stored with them and you have buyer protection. I've never had a problem as a buyer or any fraud issues.

I use my Galaxy Note 3 99% of the time.

All the major AV companies have an android app. I'd avoid AVG personally, but that's because AVG has a bad reputation at detection as a number of friends and family will confirm having AVG miss nasties that had been around for months

"PayPal" and "safe" in the same sentence :x

I was at a cyber Security conference a few years ago, overly keep presenter asked everyone to get their smart phones out and do some twitter feed back thing. Didn't work, all the security guys still had dumb phones.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you.
