Home network problems.

Featured Replies

I use a WD "My Cloud" network storage device for storage (obvious"!)

I have always been access this using File Explorer in both my W8.1 laptop and W7 Desktop but now it is not showing.

I can still access the files using the dedicated WD My Cloud application so this appears to be a networking issue.

Also I can no longer wirelessly print anything.

Any clues guys??

Any recent firmware or Windows updates that might have broken it??

no, has been working fine since recent WD & Windows updates

It sounds dumb, but have you tried the standard Windows fix??

(Switching it off and then on again).

It also might be worth deleting it from the network and then reinstalling it after a reboot of everything on the system.

I am dumb!!, switched off and on  router and NAS and all now functioning.

Thanks

Glad to help - I just wish fixing SWMBO's PC was as easy - damned mouse port has blown and even after reinstalling the OS, she is getting random boot errors.

The IT industry answer to everything - "power cycle it".
