PD170 Wont rev out while under hard Acceleration

Featured Replies

My 2008 VRS has been having an issue where it wont rev out.  Above about 2500rpm when accelerating hard there is a hesitation almost like the turbo is loosing boost or it's not getting enough Fuel.  Up to the above rev rates the car performs flawlessly turbo spools up fine and car pulls really strongly.  The less throttle I use the less pronounced the issue seems to be.  It happens in all gears but more obvious in the likes of 3rd and 4th when the acceleration/increase in speed is most pronounced.

The car does tend to get used mainly for short journeys so i have had the DPF light come on before but only once. It there any way to force a DPF regen?

From what i've read(apologies I wasn't going to read all 27 pages of the injector issue thread) it doesn't sound like it's the usual injector issue but I could be wrong as last night for the first time the car stalled as I stopped behind another motorist who was under the impression their car got narrower the slower they went through a width restriction!!  It restarted on the key first time and hasn't done it since.
