I have my bw Octy waiting for me to collect at the end of the month. Its a demonstrator registered in November last year. One of the purchase reasons was that my 2011 DSG is ready for its first DSG oil change in 2000 miles.

 

The salesman tells me that the new car is dry DSG. I never saw it go to 7 gear on the test run. Is he right?

All 2.0 DSGs are 6 speed wet clutch on the Octy 3.

Thanks - I thought he was mistaken.

its the petrol cars that have the 7 speed dry DSG I believe.

If I remember correct it goes as follows:

* 2.0L petrol - 6 speed wet

* 2.0L diesel - 6 speed wet

* All 4x4 - 6 speed

* All others 7 speed dry.
