1.9 TDI Uprated Brake Pads

Featured Replies

Guys,

Looking a better brake pad for my 1.9 PD.

What would you recommend?

Not looking to do the 312mm conversion, just looking a little more bite.

Thanks much

I find the greenstuff pads excellent on my 1.9 estate. (front only). I did fit new grooved discs at same time, but as pointed out the grooves will wear the pads faster, so maybe standard oem pads if you do lots of miles.

Lightly used pads tend to glaze up.

Do we take it you anticipate rather than rely on late braking? This may cause your brakes to lack that initial grab.

Try a couple of crash stops.  Then see it if improves the bite.

Many of the "high performance" pads tend to trade off some other parameter.  Noise, dust, need to warm up etc.  Or are pretty expensive.

I have factory fit Padgid in mine, seems ok.
