140 PD BKD Oil Cooler - Upgrade

Featured Replies

I have searched but not found anything relating to Oil coolers so would like to ask.

The thought behind this is that my Octy is getting into its prime of just over 110k and thinking that an upgrade of the oil cooler may assist in taking it into old age with a bit more reliability.

As i am also saving up for a re-map again, it might help keep it in good or even better health.

Our friends at darkside do a kit, and just wondering if anybody has done it? and by popular opinion is it worth it?

Just working on same research. So far nobody knows and and my oil is overheating at 6deg C (ambient temp) if pushed hard. I don't wanna know what happens over hot central Europe summer - I guess oil temp will hit at least 120deg C

I guess we have to experiment, get proper fitting, find the place for radiator and pray :-D

I think there is a decent place certainly on my Ambient, by removing the front left fog lamp blanking trim, fitting some mesh and having the cooler there with an excellent amount of air flow. dead easy to fit too in that location with easy access and loads of room on that side of the engine bay.
