More turbo hose problems :(

Featured Replies

So I replaced my top turbo hoses and one 90° at the bottom that goes into intercooler due to pipes kept on popping off. I replaced all parts with genuine hoses costing me over £200. That was on Saturday , now I just drove my car home, not particularly thrashing it, and the brand new 90° hoses popped off of the intercooler ? The intercoolers connectors is perfect, and now the hose has scraped along the road, it has damaged the male connector.

Any reason why it would keep popping off. Remap is booked for this weekend and it doesn't look like there is much point in me getting it done if it can't even handle the boost as standard.

Please help :(

Jack

It musnt have been connected properly.

That's what I thought. But it was all very secure when I fitted it. And the clips made a "click" once pushed in

Self tappers at each connection (two at each)

self Tappers straight through the intercooler into the new hose connector?

The image isnt very clear, im still not sure where to self tap the screws

If a brand new own hose has ppopped out try and get it replaced, providing the clip was on it shouldn't have so claim it was unfit for purpose. if you get a new one, bonus. You can flog it and self tap your old en.

I wouldn't do that. Would be a nightmare if you need to remove it in the future

+1 someone used silicone to seal one of mine in, horrible to take out, mashed the pipe and took 40+ mins to remove.

I will be installing a fmic anyway. And I could just disconnected it at the other end of the 90°

If it's only temporary till you get fmic use zip ties, others have done that on here.

Diagonally across the connectors ?

There a pick on here some where, basically, one around the circumference of the pipe, same on the intercooler then others joining the two....Will try an find a pic
