Euro 6 Regulations

Featured Replies

Many Skoda Diesel cars are still Euro 5 compliant.

As I understand it , all cars registered after Sept 1st 2015 ,have to be Euro 6 compliant.

Will older models ,like The Yeti, be fitted with the newer 150/184 bhp diesel engines to comply?

If I delayed an order would I be getting a more powerful / economical engine,or one more  expensive and complicated, with more to go wrong....?

Well new Euro regs haven't eactly increased efficiency or reliability

Is it all cars or all new models gaining type approval ?

Hmm, it should be in force now surely?

  • the Euro 6 standard will come into force on 1 September 2014 for the approval of vehicles, and from 1 January 2015 for the registration and sale of new types of cars;

Taking the Superb as an example, does that mean the current Mk2 falls under Euro 5 because it was type approved before 1st Sep 2014 but the new Mk3 model due out soon will need to fall under the latter perhaps?

Guess the debate surrounds new "type approvals".

Thats what I would expect ie any new models gaining TA would need to conform to the new specs but older models can continue to be produced with EU5 engines

euro 6 came into force for hgv`s in september 2014 i thought most of the latest car were euro 6 tbh
