Ok, so to try and explain this i have to basically say if this was a petrol car I would be looking for a fault ht lead or something, however its a diesel and has only just had a new injector loom as I assumed it was that causing the issue, so £145 down so far and still same issue, I did notice that there are what I would term as bear wires at the multiplug into the head, in as much as you can see the wires (5 I think) seems to be no cover or seal over the end of the plug... are they all like this, will get a pic tomorrow in daylight.

 

One interesting fact is that its fine from cold but within a mile its starting to mis a beat until you rev through it (or so it seems)

 

Any thoughts would be gratefully explored, no codes stored or erased on vcds... seems to be particularly bad between 1600 - 1900 rpm which of course where most of the driving is, not so noticeable in fourth but in third its a pig... cough splutter... cough.  ERG ?? / Vacuum leak, although if the later I thought a code would have been generated.

 

Any thoughts folks...  

 

 

EGR might be where I'd start. You can take them off to clean.

 

I removed mine with my Octy as they annoy the hell out of me. Darkside do a bypass kit but your car would need the map adjusting, to clear the CEL light that'll come on.

 

So if you just want the easiest fix possible, take the EGR valve off and see how clogged up it is. Clean it down and replace, then see if the symptoms come back. Diagnostic wise, it could still be operating within tolerance, hence no code logged.

 

Injectors themselves could also be a possibility, but would expect a error code there.

Well a good place to start I guess and relatively easy to remove clean and refit... Mr Muscle or similar ok for cleaning ??

Thanks Wardy, as you suggest hopefully that'll do the job just fine, I have some similar product already on the garage shelf so will try that and some Mr Muscle I'm sure between them they ought to have it shining clean in about a day of scrubbing and scouring with all types of materials..lol
