Just got me a Fabia Monte Black Edition!

Featured Replies

So today I took the plunge and struck a deal on a pre-reg Fabia Black Edition. Pick it up on Friday! :)

Nice, black is the way to go ;) any plans for it?

Nice, get some pics up when you get it :-)

Same one weve got here , get hids in it !

Yep, just hard to keep clean! Not sure yet, maybe just one or two subtle cosmetic mods and get cruise control fitted. Not really sure what's available to do to it yet anyway.

Yeah, will do for sure!

Yes I heard the standard lights aren't great. How much do hids cost and is it warranty friendly to do this?

Got mine from hids-direct.co.uk for £40 and they're a big improvement, got 18 months warranty on them as well and they don't affect Skoda's warranty so it's all good

Maybe decide for yourself if the lights are good or not before buying anything to upgrade,

Possibly the factory fitted good bulbs in your car and set them properly.

?

Is the car you bought Pre-Registered in February with only delivery miles,

or Registered as a Demonstrator.?

Yeah, I will check them out first and see what they're like.

No its not a demonstrator. It was pre-registered in November and has only about 30 miles on it.

Thanks. So is it literally just a different type of bulb thats a straight swap?

It's not just a case of a straight swap, the bulb holders have to be modified and ballast boxes fitted which are wired to the HID bulbs.

As Gazbull17 says, but everything is included in the kit & they are very easy to do.

Cheers guys! A possibility for the future then, but I'll see how I get on with the standards first.

I was positively impressed by my monte's lights. They're better than the Octavia and I was shocked they weren't upgraded bulbs when I took them out earlier today. (VAG use Osram as standard don't they?)

Montes must be different from fabia combi then. Or they have upgraded standard halogens! I was literally scared to death when I first drove it in the dark. HID's was my first upgrade. Now I DARE go out in the dark

If your car is fitted with the module , which is the single bulb for dipped and main the lights are positively dangerous regardless if you set the light correctly , you can raise the headlight slightly but this does very little in my opinion , you can chuck some nightbreakers or extremes and they will be much better , however by putting hids in 5,000k will be much much better your warranty will be voided on that part of the vehicle ( headlight) , but the upside is safe illumination of the road ahead

This blows my mind a little. I'm pretty sure I have that said unit and the lights are perfect.

Can't wait to try mine now! ;)
