One or two rear foggie bulbs?

Featured Replies

Just cleaned my car and checked all of the bulbs but I've noticed only the offside rear fog light works.

I have taken the nearside assembly out and it looks like there should be a bulb there but there isn't one.

Do they ship with only one or has someone pinched one of my bulbs?

Ta

only ship with one.... non uk cars have bulb on opposite side, hence empty space. Requirement for fog light is one on offside of vehicle. Guess its best not to have two or they are confused for brakes

On old octy to get both working you had to run a wire between.... but on new one & fabia & superb (i believe) side that lights is chosen on Vag-Com.

Ah I see, I always think cars look somewhat naff with only one rear foggie, Most, if not all Vauxhalls have 2 and Mondeos do as well.

Thanks for clearing that up

I'll leave it until I get my new one in April :D then i'll start screwing around with that one instead.

I know looks like a bulbs pinged with one....

Its very easy to do a second one in old estate as no vag com involved iv done it with our octy 4x4.... simply run a single cable from neutral pin on working side to the empty pin on the non working side and put bulb in! Live is already there.

Damn it beaten to it by DGW! :D

On second thoughts I might do the mod, what with the foggy mornings on the way and all that, and it doubles the impact when you flash your rear lights at the asswipes who leave 'em on when its not foggy.

Yeah its amazing how many people cannot clean the inside of the windscreen - they think its foggy all the time!

(or as someone told me the other day - they arnt fog lights they are flood lights!)

On a serious note, it we're talking about the front of the Octy, are they fog lights? A few years a ago I read the lighting regs and at the time, it was only lights that were a certain height from the road that were restricted to use in reduced visibility (falling snow/fog) (memory fading, so happy to be corrected!!)
