power steering red light

Featured Replies

Hi my power steering isnt working i have the light on the dash. All was well when i went swimming, came out and then this. Any ideas has anyone had a similar issue?

Also i have the extend warrenty, i have rung skoda assist up who will be with me before 5 but do i need to inform the skoda extended warrenty people?

Thanks

Read the Extended Warranty Policy book, you might have to pay for any Diagnostic Work, stripping of parts.

But then there are some MK2 Fabias that have been having issues while in the Original Manufacturing period

and i am not aware of any Service Campaign, so maybe Skoda need to be taking some responsibility if there is a known issue.

There are some vRS that had steering faults after they had replacement engines,

? Has yours had a new engine fitted?

Page 28 Owners manual.

Electronichydraulic power steering.    The Fluid reservoir under the battery will need checking as well as the Plug in Diagnostics.

**See page 141-142 of Owners Manual.**

Is the Battery OK, and the terminals tight.

Has the car been jump / booster started or on a battery charger.
