Noticed my 2003 octavia that my window switches aren't working right. They have a two notch position and only go up or down while holding yet Helens fabia one of the notches you flick to they go all the way up or down any ideas what it could be with mine

Sometimes the auto up/down stops..... did on mine anyway.

Keep the button pressed till window is fully CLOSED. Release button and hold down again for roughly 2 seconds. Now auto open/close should be activated

Have you tried to clean them? I had the same symptoms and this worked fine for me:

If it turns out to be faulty there's quite often used panels on ebay, I scored one from a Passatt for a tenner, same part number, now I can stop the pesky kids opening windows!

Take the switch assembly apart and clean the contacts. I've done this many times and it works every time. If you're not confident about doing it then replace the switch assembly.

I should have no problem dismantle them do alot of electrical work so will have a play today as of work

I think there's some kind of automobile telekinesis that goes on, all our cars are somehow linked into each other in some kind of weird way, think they have sympathy pains with each other

Mine will do auto down on the drivers side window but not auto up.  all other windows only go down if i keep the button pressed or keep the button raised to go all the way up.

If you do need one just did a quick searc on ebay and plenty of new ones for around the £30 mark but this one is on bidding with 9 days left currently £4.99 + £3.20 postage
