Octavia 2001 facelift midel with 1.6l with auto 4 step transmission. Need a replacement tranny. Will a pre-facelift transmission fit my car?

The best thing would be to find out the gearbox code on your car and match it up with the source car.

 

If the gearbox code is the same then the new one will fit just fine.

 

Having said that I'm almost certain there was only one type of 4 speed gearbox used in the Mk1 Octavia.

 

The gearbox code should be stamped into the housing of the gearbox somewhere.

There was only the one transmission type (meaning OEM and gears); there were a number of final drives though, so the code will vary if, say you look at your and a diesel one.
