Dectane - Litec Rear estate LED light clusters 2008 VRS

Featured Replies

Hi just wondered if these are plug and play and for UK spec cars?!

On Seat Leon's they are only for left hookers due to fog light and reversing light being on opposite sides.

Is this the same for Octy or are right and left hookers the same?! Also is there a specific one for VRS 2008 ?

Thanks in advance :-)

I ordered these for my 2008 vrs. They are mostly plug and play. However....... When the sidelights were switched on only the top and bottom led's lit up not the ones down the side (if that makes sense). I had to splice into the sidelight wire and join to the wires in the light. Any easy job when I worked out what was wrong. I needed to keep the original small sidelight bulbs connected to stop the bulb warning light.

If I work out how to post a pic I will put one up!

I have fitted them and so has Brimma. They are plug and play and no issues for the non VRS (mine have reverse lights on both sides). They look really smart in my opinion and are pretty cheap on eBay at present given the higher exchange rate.

Edit: I didn't have the same issues as the above poster but they are a recent addition so maybe this has been picked up in the design?

Ignore the resistors they were not actually required.

They look great when fitted!

I have the Crystal type and what i do find is the amber turning signal hard to see somewhat against the sun. The smeared plastic cover over leds should have been clear plastic

Otherwise looks great.

I meanwhile tinted the red part and left the turning signal and reverse area clean

Actually just looked again at mine and indeed the side portion of the lights don't come on although there are are connections for the old side lights to avoid the bulb errors. I think it may be deliberate to avoid the bulb errors but will investigate some more this weekend.

Seems normal, i needed to put back normal side bulb and turn ignition off, on to "activate" the side lights, although only happened on one side, when on if not working put normal bulb in without turning off lights

Mil7215 I see you have same age VRS as mine, did you buy from e-bay or direct from Dectane in Germany , the ones on e -bay looked like they were facelift onwards?!

Bought from ebay from dectane clearance. Cost about 80.00 delivered.

Ebay item no - 311244137237

More details!

any idea which one will fit on a 2012 VRS Hatch?

On the newer dectane ones that are now sold (and which I bought recently), there is no need to splice the side light wiring as it is already done. You just need to connect the old side light circuits with the right polarity (red to grey, black to brown) to the holders on the new rear cluster. I just discovered that one of mine was wired the wrong way around on both sides. When I corrected them, the lights came on all the way around.

Can't believe I didn't notice it till this thread was started!!! Thanks loopy and mil

Thanks again Mil 7215 , loads of good info, I'm guessing 04/08 are same as 08 onwards?!

There is a difference between pre facelift (FL) 04/08 and FL 09 onwards. Yours being 2008 should be a pre FL so 04/08 is correct.
