I bought my 9 month old Skoda Superb Estate S 1.4 tsi a couple of weeks ago. Its an ex-Europcar rental and its also my first petrol engine car in 12 years following 6 years with a Citroen C5 estate 2.0 D then 6 more with a Ford S Max 2.0 D. I was a bit worried about lack of power and poor fuel economy, before I got it, but I'm loving it so far.

I went for petrol this time because my Ford S Max was struggling a bit with my 15 minute commute to work and lack of long runs to clean out the particulates filter.

I've been getting 28 mpg on my commute to work and I've just managed 40 mpg on a 180 mile run up to Northumbria with the wife, three large kids and the boot full to bursting.

I'm keen to hear how others are finding their fairly rare 1.4 tsi Superbs and I'm also interested in people's views on buying ex rental cars.

Thanks

Richard
