Passenger mirror dip

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

I have a little issue with passenger mirror dip in reverse. It almost works :-) it dips perfect but it doesn't return to the position it dips from.

Lets say that it dips 5 degres, the it only return 4 degres.

Has anyone tried this and maybe found a solution?

Unless you have the memory seats and memory mirrors it doesn't work perfectly unfortunately

Do you have it from the factory (with memory seats) or just programmed it with VAG-COM software?

I don't have memory seats & programmed the "mirror dip on reverse" trick with VCDS.

The mirror never returned to it's original position so finally I disabled this feature...

I don't have memory seats and the coding is done by vcds. But I Can see that you have the same issue.

It's easy to disable it from the mirror button, and only use it when it really is needed.

Thanks for fast replys.

Having previously owned an Audi Q7 with 21" OEM diamond cut alloys that were so expensive they would require an insurance claim to replace (£1135 each excluding the tyre and VAT), I thought I'd never be able to live without the auto dipping mirror feature again.... and then I remembered what pain in the a#$e it sometimes was when reversing into a space where the kerbs weren't the issue but rather the wall or vehicle to the side.

And so it is that I just leave the switch in the LH mirror position and hold the thing down for 2 seconds when I reverse... after all I have to go to all the effort to move the shifter from D to R, work the pedals and turn the steering wheel.

Still can't understand why they have the option of a powered boot but you've still got to open the frickin doors manually to get in and out of the car...

Since my VRS hasn't got the the memory seats either, I have resorted to this as well. I thought about the VCDS coding but since that only works properly when you also replace the standard motor with a memory motor in the mirror, it's just too much hassle. Readjusting the mirror once in a while is good enough (but still not how it's supposed do be, take note SKODA!!)
