which oil & filter for 7-gear DSG?

Featured Replies

I recently became a happy owner of 2012 octavia 1.6tdi with DSG. I have checked all the documents that I got with the car, but I can't find which oil and which filter I need for gearbox oil change. Can somebody help me with part numbers?

the 7 speed DSG oil is sealed for life and does not need changing unless the incorrect oil was used at the factory

Personally I would still change the oil every 40k myself , don't agree with this sealed for life stuff

1.6 diesel gets the 6 sp doesn't it ?

Some got 6sp, most are 7sp. The latter being subject to a Skoda/VAG recall so I'd approach your dealer as you may be able to get it for free

Thank you all for the answers. I find it very interesting, that 7 speed DSG has lifetime oil. I most certainly will check this info about a recall, thanks!

Is there a possibility that my car has incorrect oil in the gearbox?

Don't think it's a recall rather than a service campaign on some models necessitating a change of oil type

Only affects certain period where synthetic oil was used instead of mineral oil during factory fill up. A quick call to your local skoda dealer should be able to advise you but it would of been rectified if your car has been through the skoda network for servicing.
