Guessing this is dead then

Featured Replies

Trying to figure out why my car doesn't seem to be able to understand when the boot is open or not and why the boot light doesn't work despite having a brand new bulb and no fuse issue.

Traced some wiring around and found this... Pretty reluctant to open it up but I'm guessing it's dead? Can anyone confirm what this plug feeds? It's passenger side.post-112125-14246976322378_thumb.jpg

That's the connection between interior loom and the bootlid loom I think.  Might also be connections to the woofer on that side and the boot side light?

Thanks Devon. Still a bit reluctant to open the connection as there's so much corrosion coming out of that pink one I'm afraid it'll do more harm than good! Will have to do some more tracing when I get some light to judge just what I'm likely to break if it all falls apart...

That looks like the connection blocks for the rear light clusters..... therefore check the rear water piped joint there as it can pop apart and cause that sort of damage.

Think it's gone in the past - previous owner to me binned the CD changer as it stopped working "as it got wet" so i'm guessing it's had a joint repair before but they didn't bother to check where else got wet.
