Buying a black edition advice

Featured Replies

Hi

I test drove a Black edition today after seeing Skoda are offering 0% finance

The price of the car is around 15,500 brand new and I can trade in my old car and get around £3k for it

I wondering if anyone thinks I have any room to negotiate a price reduction due to the new registrations coming out this weekend or does this sound about right ?

I know I may be able to get a pre registered model and a reduction in price but won't benefit from the 0%

Cheers

There's always room for negotiation on a new car at list price, you just might have to push a bit. You do have an advantage as well because of the new reg and also the current Fabia is just being replaced. When they won't reduce the price any further you can then try and push for an optional extra of some kind to seal the deal.

I just got a 3 month old pre-reg Black Edition for £11,300 though and that is quite a saving even though there is no 0% and you cant choose any optional extras.

Thanks mate

Did you bother with the GAP insurance or the paintwork asset protector ?

you can buy gap much cheaper elsewhere and as for the paint protection, thats a rip off, offer them £100 for it if you really want it but its just an easy way for them to make commission

No I didn't bother with either. As above if you want it you can get GAP cheaper elsewhere. As for the lifeshine stuff I have always heard its not worth it, its just a real easy money maker for the dealer and it doesn't actually do that good a job. Anyone who knows about car care would tell you to avoid it and put the money towards a good professional new car detail.
