oem xenon help please

Featured Replies

Hi me and my xenon's again...

brief history factory fitted xenon's all fine then n/s light went i thought it was the bulb turn's out it was the ballast which i replaced. in the meantime i did buy some ebay ds2 bulbs for £30 to replace the osram's as they seemed a bit "dull". my problem now is that the n/s bulb randomly turns off i have to switch the lights on and off to get it to work again sometimes it's once other times it takes a few goes but it does work fine as does the o/s bulb. i have noticed that there is no pattern to when it goes off the examples i can give and noticed are as follows

1) just sat idle on my drive after being on for several minutes

2) under heavy braking

3) when i turn on the full beams

4) when i cleared a engine code form with obd

i have had the headlight unit out loads of times i have swapped over another ballast i have also change the pack inside the headlight that connects to the bulb (sorry don't know the name of it) the wires inside the headlight seem ok i have also checked the wires connecting to the headlight unit they seem visually ok.i have checked the fuses all ok as far as i can see.

this is doing my nut in and i was wondering if anyone else had thoughts from the info i gave. is it my ebay bulbs are khack? would it have anything to do with the switch in the car?

if you have some idea's what is going on then i beg please enlighten me.. (pardon the pun..)

Have you tried it with the osram bulb back in, easiest fault find if every thing ok you will of answered your own question.

hi. go to your local TPS store, ask them to get you one genuine bulb ( economy is about 29.99) which is good enough, try that. if not i would try earthing nder the battery box. thats my option 2. let us know how you got on.
