Adding Bluetooth to the Bolero

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I have a bolero in the octy without maxidot.

I'd like to know if its possible to add Bluetooth for music streaming purposes. Specifically for android phones??

If so which part would I need?

Many thanks

Phil

You need a 5k0 035 730 d or above or 7p6 035 730 j or above module plus a loom and mic. Check out ebay for modules and carsystems.pl for the loom.

Thank you much!

I have a Scout (07/57) with Maxidot (but I believe that it's the 'basic' versions?). Would a 7P6 035 730F module work? Thanks.

In a pre fl very few of the modules show in maxidot anyway (only the really old RSAP only ones). I suspect that this one will work in HFP mode and phone book display will be on the Bolero not maxidot.

Thanks. Not too worried as long as I can access the phone book from the Bolero. HFP? Hands Free Phone? Could I stream Bluetooth audio? Sorry for all the numpty questions...

HFP means Hands Free Protocol. Works with all phones but gives slightly limited (but still good) functionality, (and including streaming BT audio so yr ok there) when compared to a premium connection. But without the newer facelift maxidot you couldn't take advantage of the premium functions anyway.

Thanks Adam. Ask me one on flying - that I can do! Looks like it's worth a punt then.

Yes. Don't pay more than 70-80 quid though...

For just the unit, or the loom & mic as well? Just paid £100 for the lot.

That is very good. I meant just the module.

Great. Let's just hope it all works - and that I can fit it!

Update...

Is this just a plug & play unit? All the connections seem to have worked, and the Bolero now recognises that there is a phone option. What I can't figure is how to actually connect the phone. Any help greatly appreciated.

With these units you pair from the phone. Search for available devices and skoda-bt or vw-bt or similar should pop up. Choose that and away you go.

What a numpty...helps if you have the ignition on! And to think they trust me with airliners...Thanks again adamal
