Juddery Steering - Engine mount?

Featured Replies

Morning, I noticed the last few weeks, along with the floaty, on the way out dampers, the following:

Driving in a straight line/ very gentle right/left curve (about 2degrees of steering either side), while accelerating hard or gentle.

Just as the pressure comes on the steering wheel  to start moving the rack, there is a continuous, gentle juddering on the steering wheel.

dip the clutch, or just lift off and coast, it goes away, start to rev again, however gently, and it will come back.

is this likely to be the engine mounts need doing as well as my shocks??

Havent noticed any wheel hop while pulling away, which i recall being symptomatic of the mounts.

If it's only under load when in gear it could be a drive shaft problem.

aawww man, i could do without adding that to the list!!!

Check that the inner driveshaft spline bolts are tight as my father in laws golf did this, he ignored it and eventually, the driveshaft left the scene of the gearbox as the bolts fell out one by one.
