Bye bye Citigo :(

Featured Replies

So today was the day I traded my Citigo Sport in :( not used it the last month since I decided it was going. A fun little run in the late afternoon spring sunshine :)

I had it just over a year and did a little more than 8k in it. It was the newest and lowest mileage car I've ever had. Also the shortest time I've owned a car for!! :o

It was my third Skoda in ten years. So far I'm very pleased with the Mini Cooper, twice the BHP of the Citigo and my first ever non VAG car!!

Mine will be going in about a month as it's being traded in for a new Fabia estate. I know I'm going to miss it, especially on the twisting country roads around where I live.

seems a few of us are leaving the citigo and skoda fold lately, I go this Saturday (fabia GLII becomes new i20 SE 1.2 84PS)

for me there was nothing I liked in the current range to replace my GLII and the new cars no longer seem to be the value for money they were 10-15 years ago when I got my first Octavia mk1

skoda seem to be trying to challenge VW for 2nd place, and the only differentiator seems the spec of the base models and the engines

That is skodas problem at the minute the quality throughout the range has taken a hit and prices are going up. Skoda aren't value anymore but neither are they quality. :(

from what I am seeing the whole TSi engine range appears to be having some issues, depending on the level of power for the size of the engine  (stress level) how quickly the issues appear

radio 4 had a thing about a couple audi TSi owners getting the run around over oil usage etc and also the fact there was a class action in states over issues with one of the larger audi TSi engine

and I am seeing some comments on the web about even some of the 1.2 TSi's having oil issues out of warranty

and as VAG seems to be using the TSi family almost exclusively (other than the 1.0ltr in the citigo and now fabia 3) seems to be another reason to walk away from VAG

I had two mk1 Fabias they were both brilliant cars! Good build quality and value for money, I wouldn't be tempted by a new Skoda at the present time :(
