Hello Good Evening and Well Hello Again

Featured Replies

Hello everybody. My name is Andrew and I live in Chester, North West England. I have owned a 2006 Skoda Superb 2.0 Elegance that drove me mad for two years as it had an engine management light issue that thankfully has now been resolved. Really great cars and so far really impressed. Apparently it was something to do with a particulate filter.

Hi Andrew

Diesel particle filter , a part in the exhaust that was installed to reduce emissions. It is notorious for blocking and therefore causing problems. Mainly due to not heating up regularly enough due to lots of short trips. The DPF (Diesel Particle Filter) can be 'rejuvenated' a couple of times by running the engine at around four thousand revs for a set amount of time, from what I'm told this 'flushes' it out. But can only be done a couple of times apparently. Anyway, I'll stop muttering on.
