Hi guys,

A question for you all. During the installation of my ICE over the past two days, we removed my passenger seat and then went to stage 1 on the ignition to check the ICE install. I gather the ECU then took note of the fact the side airbag in the passenger seat had become disconnected hence the warning light stayed on. WHat I didnt expect however is that the light is now remaining on even though the seat is back in place and airbag connector plugged in correctly! :(

So.... what do I need to do to extinguish the dash warning light? (please dont say remove the dash bulb)

And please dont say it requires a dealer visit; although thats what i now suspect.

If you have access to VAG-COM software, scan the airbag controller and clear any DTCs, ie error codes. However before doing so read the warning on Ross-Tech's site about scanning airbag controllers. That said, my Octavia is the same year and model as yours, and the airbag controller is safe to scan.
