Mfd and Columbus issue

Featured Replies

Collected a second hand yeti this week. Elegance spec with Columbus.

I've noticed that there seems to be an issue with either the Columbus and or Maxidot display.

When driving along and so far it seems to only be when moving, the Columbus display says phone disconnected and then user connected and sometimes no Bluetooth phone connected. Then now and again mentions something about heating display can't be shown and optical parking sensors can't be shown.

Then on some occasions the Maxidot will do similar, if on the phone screen it will go to the mfd part and then go to the phone section in sync with the issues on the Columbus display. I've reset the Columbus and the Maxidot also repaired two phones and happens on both.

Even with no phone connected, leaving the Maxidot screen on the menu where it says phone, the word phone disappears and just leaves the rest of the menu items.

Any ideas at all?

To add -

Even with the phone deleted the maxi dot side of things has issues, the menu item 'phone' in the MFD shows and then hides.

All very strange. Could it be the BT module or a connection somewhere?

It sounds like there's a dodgy connection somewhere.

The Bluetooth loom plugs into the back of the Columbus loom so they may very well be linked.

The Bluetooth should be under the driver's seat so that should be easy to check the connection.

The stereo can be easily removed (just four screws under the trim) to check that connection.

Thanks Phil... Googling drew a blank for the exact same issue but similar issues suggest a connection issue.

Have had a vcds lead delivered this week, will plug in for errors and then check the connections. Thanks

Have reset the Bluetooth module as per googled suggestions and still doing it.

Next I'll remove the Columbus and check the connections there and maybe dis the battery for ten minutes
