Wing mirror fold on locking?

Featured Replies

I'm nearly sure my wing mirrors folded in when I locked it when I first got it however I went thru the options and possibly turned it off or did I just flick the switch on the mirrors by mistake?

Yeah I had posted about holding too long would move windows then realised I was being stupid as you would, press holda open to open windows, need to engage brain!!!

Thanks for help though

What I have found on a MY2012 is you need to hold the lock button for nearer to 4s for the mirrors to fold.

If the windows are open then holding the lock button only closes the windows and you need a second long 4s press to fold the mirrors.

If the a window has had an error open/closing then the mirrors won't fold on the lock button until you reset the windows by lowering and raising manually using the normal internal window switches.

Yeah gave it a try when was out earlier and it does fold when holding for a short period... Glad I wasn't losing the plot

I wish you could set them to fold each time the car is locked rather than having to hold the keyfob button.

I have to keep looking back at the car to know when it is safe to release the button.

Is that not do-able with a VCDS tweak I wonder?

Nope.  The CE module in the Octy3 will do it (even via menu) but the one in our Superb3's don't.

Is this feature avaliable on the 2008 version as I've tried when i first got mine and was never able to get the mirrors to fold. Getting the windows to open/close is no problem but the mirrors...

Do you have the setting on the internal knob used to adjust the mirror?

There will be a position for 'off', 'left', 'right', 'heated mirrors on'... and on cars with folding mirrors a final position for 'folding the mirrors'.

You can see it here in the bottom left of this image (picture of the mirror with an arrow under it)...
