Hi All, I am looking to get a Tow Bar fitted to My Touran By a Company not looking to do it myself and I am a bit concerned over the Electrical side of things, It seems that most fitters use a "By-Pass" Relay to get round any CanBus issues.

 

My Question is this, Has anyone got any experience regarding having there own tow bar Electrics, Do I need someone with VCDS to adjust anything regarding CanBus and the ESP system?

If they use a by-pass relay then you not be able to reprogramme the car, even with VCDS.

There are several companies now providing the correct plug-in looms for cars that do the job properly, and don't invalidate any warranty.
