Having just bought a new tv with 3D capability (and two pairs of glasses) and a 3D dvd player, thought I'd seek recommendations for films worth watching in 3D (not Gravity as I've seen it too many times!).

 

I generally go for some sort of action / thriller type film, so just wondered what others had watched in 3D and been impressed with?

Lord of the rings/hobbit all look great, jurassic Park is very good

I'd stick with films that were 3D from conception and not just passed through an algorithm.

 

Some of the kids 3D animated films work well. Toy Story, Wreck it Ralf, Tron

I was impressed with Avatar when I saw it in the cinema, not sure about 3D DVDs as I haven't seen any

Avatar is good, Gravity was written/filmed for 3D and worth a watch in 3D. Iron Man 3 is worth a watch, especially the last big scene at the dockyard setting.
