I would be very interested to learn of anyone who has experienced 'bottom end' or piston noise problems on the humble 1.2 86 TSI engine.

Also if anyone has experienced high engine noise tranference into the cabin. Mine has done just under 8K, and I am not happy with the way things sound.

Only noise is a temporary 1 or 2 second rattle on a cold start, tbh its worse on our older 2011 Octavia 1.2tsi, and virtually absent on our 2013 Fabia 1.2tsi.

 

Remarkably quiet engine, road/wind noise much louder than engine at all speeds.

 

Ask a Skoda Tech to check yours and get their opinion. If you arearanoid, ask for a test drive of an equivalent 2nd hand car at your dealer for a comparison.
