The definition of the code is Load signal from Alternator Term. DF Range/performance/Incorrect Signal.

There's a fault on the signal wire from the alternator to the ecu and on mk1 octavias the loom from the alternator could become compromised and break, hence the code and usually some odd battery behaviour.
