2014 Skoda Fabia II - Ignition error and limp mode

Featured Replies

Hi

in Jan 2014 I bought a brand new Fabia II. since day one, it suffers from ignition problem. When I turn the switch to 'On', it has the weird beep and the engine goes into Limp Mode. this status can change upon turning the engine off and than back one, or last for days.

It had been 7 times to service center (total of more than 2 month time),  replaced Throttle and Engine computer without any change.

What option do you have where you are,

can you Reject the Car & get a Replacement from Skoda that is not Faulty?

we're negotiating w/ the local dealer.

I wanted to know if anyone else experienced it in the past.

thanks for the reference.

?

Which Fabia- Engine do you have ?

1.4 Petrol / Manual transmission.

Sorry still none the wiser, different engines in the UK in the Fabias,  and running on 95 ron fuel minimum..

What 1.4 Petrol engine is that, Power Output, ?

is it a 4 Cylinder ,  TSI, ACT or the likes,

ie is this a Newer VW Engine they using / trying out and new electrics,

or some older type of engine that they should very much understand ?

We got the car back again from the service center and after 3 days the problem appeared again.

The IL dealer bought it back from us.

I saw this link and thought, "ah, is that the one where it turns out to be the ignition switch that's the problem, and the German VAG forums have info about it, but UK-based dealers deny that VAG have ever seen the problem, but when they actually talk to the Germany they start saying "we're going to try replacing the ignition switch", and it fixes the problem". But it isn't that thread. Wish I could remember where that thread was. Hope I didn't dream it. The only other details I recall are that initially the steering rack was blamed/changed, but that made no difference; and it was occurring in very, very young/recent cars.

German Parent Company, Factory, Technical Department and Dealership Employees say lots,

but never admit to anything being a Common Fault, or due to Design, Manufacturing, Factory Fitment or lack of Quality Comtrol.

Dealers & Technicians saying 'They all do that' and resetting the ECU & Codes rather than talking to the Volkswagen Group

is a major problem.
