Fabia VRS Recall work

Featured Replies

Just recived a call from the Skoda Dealer where I bought my Fabia from letting me know there is some recall work required on my car.

Something to do with the 5 bolts on the tandem fuel pump.

Anyone else had to have this work done? what does it involve?

Because the dealer i bought the car from was over 100miles away, its now booked in at my local dealer to have the work done in a couple of weeks time.

Yes I had mine done, I think it's just a case of swapping the effected parts with new ones. Took about an hour I think, but then the techie guy doing is a diamond geezer! ;) He also has a nice motor :D

This was covered a few months back and is not a very big job at all apparently. I thought there was a sticky thread in the Fabia forum for this, but it seems not! Search should hopefully turn it up though :D

I didn't think they were still selling cars requiring the mod.

Mine is an 04 plate and i bought it about 6 months ago as the Skoda Dealers demonstrator.

Didn't that recall come out in December - I'm certain I had mine done between Christmas and New Year which begs the question why the dealer hadn't sorted it before selling you the car if it was an ex-demo.

erm mines never had it done while i have owned it as far as i know lol

and i have had it since sept last year

Here's the LINK to VOSA recall database. If you think your car is affected you should give either your local dealer or Skoda Customer Services a call.

I think you car was built out side the effected date. I seem to remember the build dates being april 2004 to August 2004 (but I might be wrong)

ah thats right mines too old :D

How do we tell the build date of our cars? I got mine last October, so I imagine it *could* have been built before the end of August?

I'm guessing (again) it will tell you on the VIN, albeit it in code form. Your local dealer should be able to help you, failing that Skoda UK?

Caffyns Tunbridge Wells to the rescue - mine's ok.

The service manager did say that they've sent out as many as 3 notification letters about this so most people should have got the message by now!

Im sure mine was done at the last service, the dude at the garage went on about some recall work and a sticker to prove its been done has been stuck under the carpet in the boot. I really should pay more attention LOL

Your retailer should be able to tell you from he VIN / Chasis number through his ETKA software. If he doesn't know how to do it get him to call Retailer Support
