help with steering fault code

Hi all

I posted this a couple of days ago in the ask a tech section

and thought I'd try my luck here.

""I'v nearly finished repairing a damaged fabia ,its a 2000 1.4 16v

since geting it there has been no powersteering

so put it into a local garage for a diagnostic

came back with the code

00566 steering help operation not a plausible signal

error occurs intermitantly

so its not the yaw angle sensor wich is code

00816

The mccomic reckons that there must be damaged wiring ,but I'v been all

over it and can find none, the car was damaged on the o/side front

the opposite side from were the pump/motor and wiring lives

he can't say what the code is specific to.

I'v done a search for the code here and on google no result

any Ideas would be welcome

any one got an Idea to whats the problem, thought I'd get the fault code

replace the offending part sorted, how wrong was I
