Faulty Passenger seat-slight movement as though not clicked on to position.

Featured Replies

Got a niggly problem after touring around some of Ireland's finest roads, which have a lot to be desired maintenance wise.

It's slight movement in the passenger seat which can only be described as though the seat hasn't clicked in the runner.

You can hear it click and the wife can feel the seat move slightly when I brake at traffic lights and then pull away again. Only noticed it this weekend, the car has now got 1000 miles on the clock.

Not sure if it's the seat back or if it is the base of the seat a little bit loose on the runner

Annoying all the same and was wondering if anyone else had similar issue?

My drivers seat clunks forwards or backwards occasionally when I accelerate hard or brake. It only happens once every 20-30 journeys, so almost impossible to demonstrate to a Dealer.

Mm I'll give them a call and get it booked in.

Found this on my vRS. What seems to happen is that seat is not "square" once its been adjusted and then it feels loose and sometimes under acceleration\braking will click back\ forwards one notch to align itself.

Tried all sorts, like adjusting and moving the seat along the rails, adjusting the height. I can replicate it so the dealer should see it, but they are picking the car up from my work place so won't get a chance to show them.

Frustrating, seems to have fixed itself now. I say frustrating as when it went in to dealer, they couldn't find the fault (when it was still doing it) it's booked in for Tuesday and has gone!

Hope it doesn't come back :-/

This has returned, it probably actually never went away. Only when I have been driving about in the town, stop starting etc it's very noticeable.

My driver seat also creaks now too.

Mitchell's Skoda in Cheshire oaks were no good. They couldn't replicate the problem (been in twice now) so I'm now complaining to Volkswagen Finance as they will be jointly liable for faults.

Well it's in for the 3rd time now. The dealer said they fixed the pass ever seat 'thudding' noise now when pulling away.

Now drivers side is creaking but goes away if you adjust the seat and gradually comes back.

All sorted now at long last (touch wood)

So what was it?

They were a bit vague. 'Something' was loose under the seat. They took it out, stripped it down and put it back in making sure everything was tight.

Hopefully it'll stay tight now.

That would have been those bolts that hold it to the floor then ..............

Scary!

Also they chose to ignore my "Please do not wash/valet" sign!

Yes they are a PITA, when they do that.

I prefer to wash my own vehicles too, that way I can be sure of no swirls.

I think my passenger seat might be rattling also. If I hold it it seems to stop.

I'll check the bolts and adjust it a bit, see if it stops. Only done 150 miles.

Mine had a 'thudding' noise when someone was sitting in it.

Still not come back so they've obviously sorted what it was [emoji106]
