Retrofitting advice

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm looking on fitting a new speedo cluster that has a maxi dot screen. I currently own a 2011 Monte Carlo TSI.

My current speedo is bog standard. I don't have a MFSW either.

Is there anything other than the speedo that I'll require? If so, what? Do you know any part numbers? Ideally i'd like to get someone to fit it within the next week or two.

Contemplating getting cruise control fitted at the same time of installation.

Many thanks!

Speedo cluster isnt a straight swap. It requires special coding by the dealer as the immobiliser is part of the cluster. Find out if your dealer will do the coding BEFORE you get the cluster. It's an anti theft scenario so some dealers don't touch cluster swap codings. The mileage from the old cluster has to brought to the new cluster as well.

Hey man,

I can't seem to find a brand new maxi dot speedo and I was under the impression dealers were only able to fit new ones?

This leaves me with having to purchase a second hand unit and getting someone from maybe this forum to fit it for me.

That's possible I think, or have I got my wires crossed?

Is there anything else I'd need other than the speedo its self?
