Hi there,

This is my first post but have been a casual viewer for a while.

Whilst driving tonight, my car started making a quiet whistling noise when accelerating. This was complemented by a noise which sounded like an air vent blowing out extra air when accelerating also. On the way back from where I went, this noise stopped but so did a lot of the power in the car. On a downhill I could just about get to 70 but on an uphill I was struggling to hit 50 and having to drop down to 3rd gear to do so. It just felt like all ooomph has gone from the car.

My car is a 2009 Skoda Fabia hatchback 1.4 diesel (TDI I think the term is).

Any help/advice would be appreciated!

Thanks,
